Richard Lee Wright, 86, husband of Sue Smalley Wright, died Saturday, March 30, 2024.
Born in Indianapolis, IN, he was the son of the late Earl and Bertha Barton Wright.
Mr. Wright was a member of Mauldin Methodist Church. He graduated from Wofford College and retired from Michelin Tire. He served in the US Army.
In addition to his loving wife of 66 years, he is survived by two sons, Rick Wright (Shauna), and Dan Wright (Lynn); granddaughters, Heather Wright, Lindsey Wright, and Casey Wright; and grandson, Steven Wright (Narianna).
As well as his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Josephine Wright; and two brothers, Gene Wright and David Wright.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Southeast. The graveside service will be the following day Thursday, April 4th at 11:00 a.m. at Graceland East Memorial Park.
Family and friends who are unable to attend the service can view the Livestream by clicking on the "WATCH LIVESTREAM" button located on the main obituary page.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels of Greenville http://www.mealsonwheelsgreenville.org or Mauldin Methodist Church www.mauldinmethodist.com.
