Richard C. Wyngaard, age 90, of Little Chute, died Saturday, February 24, 2024, surrounded by his family. Dick was born in Little Chute on April 24, 1933, to the late Henry and Gertrude (Vanden Burgt) Wyngaard. Following his graduation from St. John's High School, Dick proudly served his country in the United States Army. He married the love of his life, Marilyn A. Vanderloop, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church on June 16, 1956. Dick went on to work at American National Can for 40 years, retiring in 1995 allowing him to enjoy 29 years of retirement with his family. He was a member of the Jacob Coppus American Legion Post 258 for over 60 years and was also a Charter member of the Little Chute Baseball Club. Dick enjoyed woodworking, building puzzles, and coaching baseball, but above all, his world revolved around his family. He loved following his kids and grandchildren in all their sports, and cherished his time spent with them.
Dick is survived by his wife of 67 years, Marilyn; his children: Keith (Laurie) Wyngaard, Kevin (Diane) Wyngaard, Kari (Lee) Van Boxtel, and Ken (Kelly) Wyngaard; and his grandchildren: Amy (Kyle) McMahon, Ashley (Francisco) Sauceda, Stephanie (Ross) Weyers, Richard (fiancée Christine), Wyngaard, Leah (Greg) Enns, Nicole (Paul) Hietpas, Clare (Alex) Van Groll, Abbey (Kevin) VandenBush, Jake (Erin) Van Boxtel, Tyler Richard (Amanda) Van Boxtel, Jordan (Lukas) Schmidt, Parker Richard, Cole, and Carson Wyngaard. Dick is further survived by his 21 great grandchildren: Landon, Adriana, Layla, Carter, Josiah, Caralena, Marisol, Myles, Alexia, Lucy, Jude, Evelyn, Samuel, Etta, Nathan, Carly, Tucker, Hallie, Anna, Clay, and Loretta; sister, Martha Evers; brother Robert (Flo) Wyngaard; and bonus sons, Bill and Dan; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Dick is preceded in death by Marilyn's parents, George and Marjorie Vanderloop; his grandson, Frank Reimer; siblings: Marie (Frank) Schiedermayer, Dorothy (Rich) Grapentine, Anthony (Theo) Wyngaard, and Ruth Huss; and siblings-in-law: Patricia (Jack) Hermsen, George "Photo" (Mary) Vanderloop, and Harold Evers.
Visitation for Richard will be held Friday, March 1, 2024, at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (411 Vandenbroek Street, Little Chute) beginning at 2:00 p.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 5:00 p.m. with Rev. Ronald Belitz officiating. Military Honors, conducted by the Jacob Coppus American Legion Post 258, will immediately follow. Committal St. John Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted for a memorial fund in Richard's name.
