Rick A. Calbi

Rick A. Calbi, 80, of Bristol, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2026. He was born on October 19, 1945 in Willimantic, son of the late Anthony and Christine (Savina) Calbi. Rick was the loving husband of Shellee (Anderson) Calbi for 28 years.

Rick was a proud graduate of Long Island University and dedicated much of his early professional life to education, serving as Assistant Dean of Students at CW Post College, Long Island. He later transitioned into a successful career as a real estate broker. An accomplished athlete, Rick was deeply involved in baseball during his high school years and was even scouted by the Bristol Red Sox. His love of sports continued into adulthood, where he played softball in his town league. He followed the UCONN Huskies and was an avid Yankee fan. Rick was an active member of the American Legion and enjoyed playing tennis, spending time fishing and vacationing in Maine.

Besides his wife, Shellee, Rick is survived by his beloved cat Furbee and by numerous nephews and nieces including Karen and David Procko of Fl. Robert and Barbara Labriola, Michael, Jennifer and Natalia Labriola and a cousin Linda Calderoni all of Bristol.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026 from 1:00 PM until a funeral home service that will start at 3:00 PM at O'Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave. Bristol.
