Steven Rubinson

Beloved & Cherished Husband, Father & Grandfather Steven Rubinson passed away on March 1, 2026. Born Monday, September 22, 1947 in Brooklyn, New York, Steve was the son of the late Solomon and Florence Rubinson. Steve was raised in Brooklyn, and was a graduate of Tilden High School. After high school Steve earned his Master's Degree from Long Island University.

Steve had a very long and outstanding career with the New York City Board of Education, as a Guidance Counselor, College Advisor and as a Marine Biology Science Teacher.

Steve loved his career and loved all the students and knew them all by first name. The students loved him as a Teacher, Guidance Counselor and College Advisor and missed him deeply when he retired. He retired in 2014 and since then enjoyed all the time he spent with his family and dogs, traveling to Florida, going to the gym for early workouts and Sunday Brunch. Steve's family described him as their 'Best Friend' he will be deeply missed by them and everyone that knew him.

Steve is survived by his wife of 34 years, Lorraine, by his children, Scott, Eric & Dawn Marie and Daughter's -in- law Edie and Nutan and by his grandchildren, Jason, Emma, Kiran and Devin. And by a sister Arlene.

A memorial gathering will be held between the hours of 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM on Sunday at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals & Cremation Services Inc. located at 111 Main Street Matawan, New Jersey 07747.
