LANCASTER – Rickie L. “Rick” Dailey, age 70, of Lancaster, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. He was born on July 25, 1954, in Lancaster, the son of James and Muriel (Clinger) Dailey. Rick graduated from Lancaster High School. He was employed at Foremost Farms during high school and most of his adult life, retiring in July of 2020. On September 19, 1980, Rick was united in marriage to the love of his life, Marcia F. Bartow. After their marriage, Rick and Marcia made their home in Lancaster and donated their time to various organizations in the Lancaster Community. Marcia preceded him in death on October 12, 2020. Rick enjoyed woodworking, fixing pool tables, and collecting eagles. He loved to go to coffee every morning at Ma’s Bakery in Bloomington with the good ‘ol boys. Rick dearly loved spending time with his family and grand fur babies. He will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his children: Aaron (Corinna) Dailey; Ammie (Mike) Nelson; three grandchildren: Cameron (Jordan) Nelson, Jillian and Joshua Nelson; special nephews: Floyd (Lee Andra) Bartow, Jr., and their daughter, Peyton, and Ryan (Tara) Wepking; his siblings: Margaret (Gary) Sedgwick, Vallerie Dailey, Jay (Rhonda) Dailey, Trudy (Hank) Anderson, and Brian (Donna) Dailey; his in-laws: Deb (David) Fishler, Douglas (Christine) Bartow, Kristine (Andy) Cerny, Mark (Ellen) Bartow, Gary Bartow, Jennifer (Jim) Joyce, and Connie Bartow; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his beloved wife Marcia, and his parents, Rick was preceded in death by a sister, Mary (David) Richardson.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory, 1234 S Madison St., Lancaster. Private family burial in Hillside Cemetery in Lancaster will be held at a later date. In lieu of plants and flowers, a Rick L. Dailey Memorial Fund has been established.
The family would like to thank Lancaster EMS, Grant County Hospice, Grant Regional Health Center and Dr. Sheirlie LaMantia for their care and compassion they all shown to Rick.
