Rick Flemings Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by J.M. Weirauch Funeral Home from Nov. 30 to Dec. 5, 2025.
Rick Flemings, a generous soul, passed away on November 29, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on September 2, 1958, Rick's life was a tapestry woven with rich experiences and deep connections. He was a resident of Nashville, Tennessee, where his presence was cherished by many.
Rick spent his early years in Walled Lake, Michigan until the age of 10, before moving to Harrisburg, Illinois. In 1984, he relocated to the Cookeville, Tennessee area to work for the LEVIS Jeans Company. In 1998, he moved to Nashville to continue his career with Pool & Spa Depot. After a serious accident in 2003, Ricky displayed resilience and adaptability by returning to school to become a Medical Transcriptionist, a career from which he retired at the age of 62 in 2020.
In matters of the heart, Rick found his lifelong partner in James E. Brake. The couple began their journey together in 1999, sharing 27 years of companionship and 14 years of marriage.
Rick had a passion for mansions and architecture, a love that took him to explore the architectural wonders of Greece, the Acropolis, and Newport, Rhode Island. His appreciation for beauty and design was a testament to his generous spirit and inquisitive nature.
He is survived by his partner, James E. Brake; his sister, Connie Stacey; his nephews, Lester Bryant (Rachael) and Josh (Rachel) Stacey; and his nieces, Jamie Lester (Danny) and Emilee Menees (Bailey). Rick also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friend Tom Maxwell, whose lives he touched with his warmth and kindness.
Rick was preceded in death by his father, Roy Flemings, his mother, Flossie Stone Flemings, and his brothers, Frank and Lester Flemings.
Ricky loved well and was well-loved in return. His absence leaves a void, but his legacy of generosity and love endures. Rick Flemings will be greatly missed.
Funeral services for Rick Flemings will be 1:00 PM Saturday December 13, 2025 at the J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Alexander officiating and burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery. Friends may call after 12 noon at the funeral hom
