Rick G. Kerbo, 71, of Cypress, Texas, passed away July 3, 2024. He was born January 5, 1953, in Dallas, Texas, to the late A. J. and Billie Marie (Morris) Kerbo and grew up in Cedar Hill, Texas.
Rick graduated from Cedar Hill High School in 1971 where he played varsity football and tennis. Then he attended University of Texas at Arlington. Right out of college he became a custom house broker and enjoyed a 47-year career as an international freight forwarder. He retired at 71 as vice president of Secure Global Logistics. This career brought him to many locations, including Dallas, Atlanta, Tulsa, Oklahoma City, and Houston.
He met his future wife in Oklahoma City and married Kathy February 18, 1983 and honeymooned in Mazatlan, Mexico. They established their first home in Atlanta on their return. After a transfer to Dallas, he and his family made many friends and memories and then moved to Houston in June, 2001. He traveled to many other places with the family and then with his wife Kathy on many luxury cruises. They visited various Caribbean and Mexican locations as well as Hawaii and returned in February, 2020 again to Mazatlan for an anniversary celebration. He was a dedicated family man and treasured husband for 41-plus years.
He was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan and took pride in the Houston Astros and attended and watched their games whenever they were televised. He took pride in every home they owned, and relished working in the yard and swimming in his pool.
He was preceded in death by his parent A. J. and Billie Kerbo and his parents-in-law Earl H. Edwards and Kathleen (Charles) Edwards. Kathleen lived with Rick and Kathy in Atlanta, Dallas and Houston being a devoted grandmother. He is survived by his wife, Kathy J. (Edwards) Kerbo; son, Christopher Matthew Kerbo; daughter Stephanie Michele Kerbo; sister, Laurie (Kerbo) Musacchio, and many beloved relatives.
