.Richard B. Koebcke passed away on July 11, 2025, at the age of 74, in McCalla, AL. He was born on May 24, 1951, to Samuel and Rachel Koebcke and was a lifelong resident of the area.
Richard had a fulfilling career and retired from the United States Steel. Known for his dedication and hard work, he was equally passionate about his personal interests. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. Many of his adventures were shared with his beloved wife, Janice, who was the center of his world. Richard also took pride in his membership with the Masonic Lodge, where he formed lasting friendships and contributed to various community activities.
He graduated from Hobart High School, which laid the foundation for his successful career and character.
Richard was a devoted family man, survived by his wife, Janice Koebcke; his sons, Richard Koebcke and Chad Koebcke; his daughter, Jean Thurman; his stepdaughter, Lisa Rennier; and stepson, Richard Rennier. He was also a cherished grandfather and great-grandfather to numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Koebcke; mother, Rachel Koebcke; and sister, Cheryl Renee Allen.
Richard's life was marked by his immense love for his family and his enjoyment of the simple pleasures in life. He will be remembered for his loving nature, his dedication to his family, and his zest for life. We will be having a celebration of life on a later date.
