Ricky Lynn Northington, 62 passed away at NMMC- Tupelo on Friday, June 6, 2025. Rick was born in Amory on October 26, 1962 to the late Joe Billy and Faye Murphy Northington. He was a graduate of Hatley High School, Class of 1980 and married Amanda Box on June 7, 1986. After high school, Rick began working at Marathon in Vernon, AL. For the next 40 years, he would climb the corporate ladder and make his way to Sales Rep. He was a determined and hard worker who never gave up. Rick was a faithful Christian and member of Forward Church in Amory. Rick's greatest joy was his wife and girls. He enjoyed doing whatever they wanted to do and was always looking to brighten their day. Rick wasn't a man of many hobbies and primarily focused on being the best husband to Amanda, father to Lynndon and Jordan and pops to Palyn, Roper, Tylan and Oliver and supported them in all they did. Rick was also a die hard Alabama fan who loved Bama football and softball.
Rick is survived by his wife, Amanda Box Northington, Amory; daughter, Jordan Tilley (Jacob), Ethelsville, AL; son in law, Ben McDill, Reform, AL; sister, Patsy Dillard (Jack), Greenwood Springs; sister in law, Melissa Simonson (Scott), Amory; grandchildren, Palyn Tilley, Roper Tilley, Tylan Cromeans and Oliver McDill; nieces, Amanda Rost, Shayna Wise and Lexi Simonson; his Marathon work family and church family at Forward.
In addition to his parents, Rick is preceded in death by his daughter, Lynndon McDill.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at Cleveland Moffett Funeral Home in Amory. Rick will be laid to rest beside Lynndon in the Ethelsville Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be prior to the service on Tuesday from 11 AM until 1 PM.
