Obituary published on Legacy.com by House-Rawlings Funeral Home - London on Sep. 26, 2025.
Rick Yaden, a man whose life was a testament to selfless service and boundless love, passed from this life way too soon at the age of 54, leaving behind a legacy stitched together with hard work, loyalty, love and humor. Rick was a source of constant amusement and occasional exasperation – a true original. He leaves behind his loving wife, Michelle Moberly Yaden; two sons, Andrew Yaden & wife Savannah, Jon Ross Yaden & wife Sidney; both of
London, KY; two siblings, Mike Yaden of Highlands, NC, Michelle Yaden Sparks of
London, KY; four grandchildren, Charlee Hurley, Ford Yaden, Lucas McFarland, June Yaden; special extended family, Jennifer Mize Gabbard, Emma Gabbard, Ben Gabbard, Josh Mize & wife Sarah, Haley, Chloe, Reece; along with a host of other family and friends to cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emory Yaden & Ann Helton Yaden; one brother, Chris Yaden. A devoted family man, Rick's greatest masterpiece was the life he built with those he loved. At the very center of his world was his wife Michelle and two sons, Andrew and Jon Ross. Although his proudest role was as "Pap" to his four beloved grandchildren: Charlee, Ford, June, and Lucas. Together, Rick and Michelle created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and memories that will forever be treasured. He was an unwavering anchor for his family, teaching them not only to succeed, but how to do it with quick wit and entertaining antics. As the driving force behind Yaden's Auto Sales, Rick built more than a business; he cultivated a trusted family name that can proudly be carried on by his sons. His work ethic was matched only by his unique ability to connect with people. Rick had the special ability to make every person he encountered feel special; whether you were meeting him for the first time or a longtime friend. His humor was as much of a trademark as his generosity. His closet was a rotation of funny t-shirts, each one a reflection of his ability to embrace life's inherent absurdities. Even in the hardest moments, he had a way of lifting spirits, reminding everyone that joy is not only found but shared. When he wasn't lending a hand or running the business, Rich knew how to enjoy life's simple pleasures. He had a great love for the serenity of the lake, savoring a fine cigar, or a leisurely cruise through town in his side by side. Rick didn't just live; he gave. He gave his time, his resources, his loyalty, his friendship, and his unforgettable humor. The world is dimmer from the loss of his light, but his spirit will ride with us always, reminding us to always help the one in front of us.
