Rickey A. Hurst, Sr. of Marked Tree, Arkansas departed this life on October 22, 2023 at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was born on October 21, 1955 to Thomas Edward and Lorene Katherine Kirtley Hurst in West Memphis, Arkansas.
His son described him best as a simple man who enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. His favorite pastimes were watching John Wayne Movies and taking cruises.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers: Charles and Lonnie Hardcastle.
Rickey is survived by his companion of twenty-one years: Emma Grace Swears of Marked Tree, Arkansas, two sons: Rickey A. Hurst, III of Nashville, Tennessee and Don Barrett (Heather) of Joiner, Arkansas, two daughters: Brandi Barrett (David) of Paragould, Arkansas and Jessica LaPradd (Andrew) of Gray, Kentucky, two brothers: Michael Hurst of Datto, Arkansas and Larry Hurst of Marion, Arkansas, his Aunt Irene Spark and Uncle Billy Kirkland, ten grandchildren: Tyler Hurst, Trey Martin, Alissa Swears, James Barrett, Sara Beth Barrett, Lacie Martin, Andrew LaPradd, Alaina LaPradd, McKenzie Barrett and Macie Barrett, and one great grandchild: Briar Martin.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Delancey Funeral Home in Marked Tree, Arkansas.
Arrangements are under the care of Delancey Funeral Home, Marked Tree.
