Rickey Johnson Obituary
A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026, at the Beaufort National Cemetery beginning at 1:00 PM. Guests are encouraged to arrive at the National Cemetery by 12:45 PM.
Rickey was born on August 16, 1959, in Norton, VA, the son of the late Billy Wayne and Joann (Nash) Johnson.
After 20 years of honorable service in the United States Marine Corps, he would love to spend his time either working on his home or out on the range tuning his skills of marksmanship. Rickey was a very loving man who always brought light into any conversation he was in, and always had the best advice for anyone who would asked. From his days of singing in church to his life of retirement, he will be dearly missed by all that had the pleasure to know him.
Survivors include: his sons: Jeremiah (Sarah) Johnson, William (Taylor) Johnson, Joseph Johnson; grandchildren: Vivian Johnson ; brother: Johnny (Linda) Johnson; sister: Dottie (Johnson) Lenz.

Rickey always had such a big heart. He would be the first to offer anything he could to someone in need. He gave me the opportunity to work with him and wonderful people. He taught me the value of good leadership and to give importance to what actually is important. He was a wonderful friend. I will miss him dearly.

My condolences to Rickey's family. He was a great man and genuinely loved and cared for his Team of employees. He would stop by and visit on his way to the range. He had a huge heart. He'll be missed by all. Rest in peace my friend. Semper Fi!

Rickey and I worked together for many years at Marine Corps Community Services - South Carolina. He was extremely passionate about helping Marines transition from the Marines to whatever came next for them. I can´t count the number of Marines he helped. RIP Salty-ol´-Gunny.
