Rickie Nelson Gunn, 66, of Niles, died unexpectedly Monday, August 25, 2025. His life began February 28, 1959, in Kilmichael, Mississippi.
Rickie graduated from Brandywine High School in 1977. He was a member of New Vision Apostolic Church and worked for Tree Play. Rickie was truly a “Mommas boy”. He took every effort to bring her gifts and make her happy. Rickie liked to dress well and took pride in his appearance. He could often be found listening to music. Rickie was a man of God. It was important to him to teach his children the bible and lead them to know God.
Rickie will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his mother, Lathei Mae (Joe Lewis) Moore; his father, Henry L Williams; one daughter, Rikki Chantaya Wakes; two sons, Brandon Gunn, Justin Gunn; three grandchildren; sisters, Susan (Ronald) Webb, Vickie Lynn (Louis) Griffin, Tonya (Burnell) Smith, Jayanna Smith; two brothers, George (Altfrevia) Howell, Curtis Smith; four step sisters, Georgetta, Melva, Linda, Joann; step brother, Robert Howell; three foster brothers, Michael Przybylinski, Luke Clampton, Zackary Hemming; favorite uncle, Hardy Williams; close friend Jerry Broyles; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and favorite cousin, Melissa Gunn. He was preceded in death by his child, Azzarie Gunn.
The family and friends will gather Friday, September 5, 2025, in Halbritter Wickens Funeral Services, 615 East Main, Niles, from 11:00a.m. until the time of service at 12noon.
