Joe Mason Hulett, aged 73, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and respected member of the Niles, Michigan community, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2025, in his hometown where he had been born on December 11, 1951, to the late Jesse and Marlene (Kelly) Hulett.

Joe, a man celebrated for his unwavering integrity and trustworthiness, dedicated his life to his beloved family and nation. He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Rebecca (Fletcher) Hulett, whom he married in Hermitage, Tennessee, on December 3, 1969. Together, they raised two sons, Jason (Alice Sereyni-Hulett) Hulett and Eric (Ariel) Hulett, who added to Joe's joy with five adoring grandchildren, Isabelle Hulett, Marianne Hulett, Juliette Hulett, Emma Hulett, and Eli Hulett.

After serving with honor for six years in the U.S. Army and achieving the rank of SP4, Joe found his professional calling at Niles Charter Township Parks, where he worked as a manager for 30 years, contributing significantly to the preservation and improvement of local history and culture. His service extended beyond his work, living a life that reflected his deep-seated beliefs.

Beyond his formal roles, Joe's adventurous spirit was evident to those who knew him best. A motorcycle enthusiast, he often shared stories of journeys taken on his 750 Honda, as well as the countless other bikes and vehicles he acquired over many years, the wind a testament to his love for the open road. His adventurous spirit also soared in the skies as he pursued skydiving, embracing the world from astonishing heights.

Joe's most cherished roles, however, were those of being a husband, father and grandfather. His family was his heart, and it was in the day-to-day moments of love, guidance, and laughter that his true character shone brightest. His guidance paved paths of kindness and his laughter will echo as a reminder of the light he brought into their lives.

Preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Marlene Hulett, and siblings Donald Hulett, Jerry Kelly, and Debbie Hulett, Joe leaves behind a legacy of love, honor, and the importance of family. His passing leaves a void, yet his spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Services will be private and held at a later date.

As we bid farewell to Joe Mason Hulett, we celebrate a life impeccably lived. A life of service, adventure, and, above all, love. He will be profoundly missed but lovingly remembered by his family, friends, and all who were touched by his compassionate soul.
