Adam Hulett, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on July 12, 2025, at the age of 78.
Born on October 11, 1946, to Horace and Rena Hulett, Adam was the youngest of seven children. From an early age, he was known for his strong work ethic, quiet integrity, and unwavering commitment to service-values that would guide him throughout his life.
After graduating from Cameron University in 1972, Adam began a remarkable career that spanned both military and civilian aviation. He proudly served as an Air Traffic Controller in the United States Navy, bringing calm and precision to one of the most demanding roles in aviation. He later continued his career with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), where he dedicated himself to ensuring the safety and efficiency of countless flights. Even after retiring from the FAA, his love for the field brought him back-to work at the Academy, where he mentored and shaped the next generation of air traffic controllers.
In 1972, Adam married Carol Joiner. Though their marriage formally lasted 20 years, their bond endured far beyond that. They remained close companions and lifelong partners until his passing.
Adam's greatest pride and joy was his family. He is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Curd and her husband Kevin, and Melissa Hulett; his five beloved grandchildren-Avery and Emerson Curd, and Chase, Tye, and Levi Anderson. He is also survived by his brother Joe Hulett and his wife Irene, his sister Janie Milner, his nephew Bill Milner, and his great-niece Emma Milner. He was preceded in death by his parents and four of his siblings.
Adam's wit, kindness and big heart left a lasting impression, one that lives on in every smile and story we share.
