It is with heartfelt remembrance that we celebrate the life of Rickie Romel Sanders, Sr., a beloved husband, father, and esteemed engineer whose journey on Earth came to a close on August 14, 2025. Born on February 14, 1952, in Detroit, Michigan, Rickie lived his life with passion and purpose, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Rickie was a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., where he attained the status of Life Member. He built a life centered around family, community, and an unwavering dedication to his career. With a Master's Degree, he thrived as an engineer at General Motors, contributing his skills and creativity to the legacy of American automotive excellence. His work was not just a job but a vocation fueled by his love for innovation and problem-solving.
A devoted family man, Rickie is survived by his loving wife and children. His warmth, wisdom, and laughter brought joy to his family and friends, creating a treasure trove of memories that will be celebrated and shared for years to come.
Rickie's life will be honored with a funeral service at James H. Cole Home for Funerals - Northwest Chapel on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at 1:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to gather for a Family Hour beginning at 12:30 PM, where stories and laughter will bring forth the essence of Rickie's joyful spirit.
As we prepare to come together to celebrate Rickie's life, we invite all who knew him to remember the laughter shared, the lessons learned, and the love that he so freely gave. Let us honor his legacy by carrying forward his passion for life, family, and ingenuity.
