It is with sadness and gratitude that we announce the death of Ricky Daniel Daurio, age 71, who left us peacefully on February 17th, 2025, in Camarillo, California.
Ricky was born on August 13th, 1953 in Bridgeton, New Jersey to Angelo Daurio and Theresa Daurio (Manno). He grew up in the lush farmland of South New Jersey where he lived with his parents and older brother, Kenneth Daurio. After high school in Vineland, New Jersey, he joined the Army for 4 years, working in the Washington, D.C. area. His meandering journey eventually took him to Ventura County, California, where he reunited with his brother Kenneth in the mid 1980’s. He lived the remainder of his life in Ventura County where he had countless adventures, as only Ricky could.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Christine Daurio (Kretschek), whom he shared many years of love and companionship with. He is survived by his children (Dominick and Nicole Daurio) along with his grandchildren (Nicolas, Danielle, Maya and August). It is important to note the deep affection that Ricky and Christine also had for all of their cherished dogs (Shep, Holly, Lance, Chance, and in later years, Ramón). His beloved family will carry on his warmth and memory.
Ricky was a hardworking, resourceful man with an entrepreneurial spirit, starting several businesses and restaurants over the years. He loved spending his mornings at the donut shop drinking coffee and always had his dogs with him wherever he went. Fiercely loyal to his family and friends, Ricky always made sure they had everything they needed, showing his love through actions. His toughness and stubbornness drove his success, but those who knew him best understood the depth of his compassion and selflessness.
Details regarding services will be provided at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Conejo Free Clinic (www.conejofreeclinic.org), an organization that worked closely with Ricky following the passing of his wife, Christine. Donations may be made in memory of Ricky and Christine Ann Daurio.
