Ricky Eich, 56, of Madison, SD, passed away on Friday. May 9, 2025. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30AM on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Colman, SD. Family present visitation will take place on Monday, May 12, 2025 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Skroch Funeral Chapel in Colman, SD.

Rick Eich was born on January 19, 1969, in Madison, South Dakota, to Michael "Ronnie" and Sheri Eich. He was raised on the family farm near Colman, South Dakota, where his love for machinery began to take shape at an early age. Much of his childhood was spent in the company of his cousin Jimmy, racing lawnmowers, riding dirt bikes, and working on racecars- interests that would become lifelong passions.

Rick attended Colman High School, where he proudly played football and wrestled. This is where he built long lasting friendships graduating with the Class of 1987.

By the age of 17, Rick was already immersed in the trucking world and even had his own truck bearing his name. He worked as both a mechanic and driver for Eich's Trucking and Repair, a business he shared with his parents. Eventually, Rick took over the business himself, continuing its legacy with pride.

In 1992, Rick married his first wife "Pete" and were blessed with three children: Kelsie "Kels," Kaylie "Bird," and Kaleb "Dude." Rick created lasting memories with his kids-whether it was fishing, tossing beanbags at the lake, or playing the traditional game of Monopoly every Christmas Eve. Rick's love for racing never faded. Whether he was working on a car in the shop or behind the wheel, his heart was always in the fast lane. He was also a skilled pool player, a loyal NASCAR enthusiast, and a passionate supporter of the Dallas Cowboys-never missing a game no matter what.

Rick's legacy continues through his "pops", Michael Eich; his children, Kelsie (Cody) VanDeStroet, Kaylie (Spence) Pollock, and Kaleb Eich (Emily); and his beloved grandsons, Jettsyn, Jaxton, and Knox, who brought smiles to his face.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sheri Eich, whose memory he cherished throughout his life.

His presence will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
