Mr. Ricky Lee Messer, age 64 of Gray, Kentucky, departed this life on Thursday, April 3, 2025, in the Baptist Health Hospital in Corbin. He was born in Pineville, Kentucky on January 28, 1961, the son of George and Loma (Scalf) Messer. Ricky had worked in the mines and had been a truck driver for Grubb Trucking.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Loma Messer, a brother, Cluster Messer, a sister Georgia Miller and a grandchild, Rickie Leeann Thompson.
Left behind to mourn his passing, one daughter, Beth Cheek and husband Dwayne of London, KY, four grandchildren, Cody Laws, Payton Laws, Konner Bureman and Madison Laws, four siblings, Lloyd Messer and wife Darlene of Corbin, Renfro Messer of Artemus, Oscar Messer and wife Lisa of Rockholds and Maggie Owens and husband Alvin of Gray, special friends, Curt Reed and Rick Rogers along with many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Ricky Lee Messer will be conducted in the Hampton-Hutton Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Doug Lawson officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Powers-Miller Cemetery in Davis Bend. Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews, Jason Miller, Konner Bureman, Harley Messer, George Messer, Dwayne Cheek, Cody Laws and Payton Laws. Hampton-Hutton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 12:00 noon until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
