Ricky Petri Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Life Tributes Funeral Home & Cremation Service on Jan. 14, 2026.
Ricky Lee E. Petri, age 69, of Spencer, passed away on January 8, 2026, at House of the Dove in Marshfield, under the compassionate care of Compassus Hospice.

Ricky was born on March 3, 1956, in Marshfield, to Lester Petri and Alice (née Hoefs) Petri. He was united in marriage to Tammie Paul on June 30, 1984 in Pittsville. He lived a simple life and was known as a hardworking man with a funny, goofy personality and a foolish sense of humor that kept those around him laughing.

Ricky spent many years working at Wisconsin Homes, where he was known for his strong work ethic and reliability. He took pride in showing up every day, doing his job well, and supporting his family through honest, steady work. His dedication and commitment carried him through to retirement, a milestone he valued and earned through years of hard work.

Ricky truly enjoyed the outdoors and the simple pleasures of life. He loved fishing and camping, especially when it meant time spent relaxing and unwinding. He found comfort and enjoyment hunting from his deer stand, often more content watching the woods and catching a nap than bringing home a trophy. He also spent time woodworking, appreciating the satisfaction of working with his hands. When he wasn't outdoors, he could often be found enjoying gambling machines, always with a lighthearted attitude and a sense of fun.

He is survived by his wife, Tammie Petri; his daughters, Carey (Jaclyn) Bryhn, Ashley (Michael) Pieper, and Hailey Petri; his beloved granddaughters, Stella, Sloane, and Allyson; his brothers, Joe (Coreen) Petri and Billy (Darlene) Petri and his nieces and nephew, Amanda, Jessica, and Johnny.

Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Alice Petri, and his brother, Jerry Petri.

A Celebration of Life will be held to honor Ricky on Saturday, February 21, 2026 from 1 PM to 5 PM at Apple Valley Road Haus, 415 Vietnam War Veterans Memorial Hwy, Neillsville, WI 54456. Family and friends are invited to gather in sharing memories, fun, and laughter.

Ricky will be remembered for his humor, his strong work ethic, and the simple joy he brought to those who knew him.
