Ricky Ray Tipton of Twin Falls, Idaho, passed away on September 6, 2025, at Saint Luke's Hospital in Boise, Idaho.

Ricky was born on January 28, 1959, in Twin Falls, Idaho to Glenn and Kay Tipton. He grew up in Filer, Idaho after moving from California in his younger years. After graduating from high school, he began working at Allison Mills in Filer, where the owner, Joe, became a meaningful mentor in his life. Later, Ricky worked in landscaping and tree trimming, a trade he was skilled in for decades and was still practicing even in recent years.

Through the years, Ricky became a loving and constant presence in the life of Breanna Skeem, who knew him as “Papa Ricky.” He treated her as his own granddaughter, supporting her dreams and making sure she could participate in cheerleading competitions and travel cheerleading. To Ricky, Breanna was the apple of his eye. His love extended to her daughters, Ariyanna Parker and Aurora Parker, as well as to Breanna’s mom, Brandy Reyes, and her brothers, Damian and Mason Skeen. They all cherished the place Ricky held in their lives and will carry his influence and love into the future.

Ricky will be remembered for his sense of humor, his kindness and generosity, and the many friendships he cherished throughout his life. He kept close ties with his high school friends, especially Earl Dutt, Rob and Angie Coonce, who remained by his side through the years. In his later years, Jennifer Thompson and her family made him a part of their own, and they each dearly loved Ricky.

Those who knew Ricky will always picture him on a bike. The next time you see someone riding a bike, let it bring a smile to your face as you remember Ricky and know that nobody could out peddle him.

He is survived by his sister, Glenna (Tim) Chadwick and her family in Montana. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Kay Tipton.

Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life in memory of Ricky on September 27, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Rock Creek Park in Twin Falls. In lieu of flowers, Ricky loved sweets, so if you’d like to bring a treat to share, along with stories and memories of him to celebrate his life.

The family would like to thank everyone who was so good to Ricky throughout his life, with special gratitude to Jennifer Thompson, Jimmy Baker, and Jeff Baker for all that they have done.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bowman Funeral Parlor of Garden City.
