Ricos Kavadas, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025, in Newnan, Georgia, at the age of 86. Born on November 2, 1938, Ricos lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication to his family and community.
Ricos emigrated from Greece to the United States in 1960, driven by the dream of building a better life. He embraced the American Dream with determination and hard work, becoming a successful entrepreneur in the restaurant industry. His last endeavor was the opening of the Town and Country Restaurant in Coweta County in January 2000, a venture that marked the culmination of his career before he retired.
Ricos was a man of many passions. He cherished his family deeply, finding joy in the company of his children and grandchildren. Known for his sense of humor and warm personality, Ricos never met a stranger. He loved to dance and took many trips back to his homeland in Greece, keeping his heritage close to his heart.
A devout member of St. Christopher Hellenic Orthodox Church in Peachtree City, Georgia, Ricos was a pillar of his community, embodying the values of faith and fellowship.
He is preceded in death by his siblings, Tel Kavadas and Christina Karagianni. Ricos is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Debbie Kavadas; his children, Alexi Kavadas and his partner Vesta Joiner, Teddy Kavadas and his wife Debbie, Stacie Hawkins and her husband Jon; his cherished grandchildren, Jimmy Hawkins (Mary Stuart), Athena Wilson (Tyler), and Aleksia Kavadas; and his great-granddaughter, Stacia Wilson. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
