Jacqueline Kavadas Obituary

Jacqueline D. Kavadas
Jacqueline "Jackie" D. (Briotti) Kavadas, age 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, July 14, 2025, at her home. She was the devoted wife of the late George Kavadas.
Born in Waterbury on November 29, 1947, she was the daughter of the late John S. and Louise M. (Genovese) Briotti. She was a graduate of Waterbury Catholic High School and a longtime communicant of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
Jackie spent most of life as a hairstylist and took great pride in making others look their best. Her car was always packed and ready to make others beautiful at a moment's notice.
She, along with her husband George, owned a home in Mashpee, Cape Cod, Massachusetts for many years. Together they enjoyed spending time at the beach, fishing, clamming and crabbing. She especially loved traveling. Her most memorable trips were to Italy with her mom to see her family. She still kept those family ties with her Italy family bound together. She also traveled to Greece to spend time with her husband's family as well.
Family was everything to Jackie. She hosted and annual Genovese Family picnic and spent as much time with her family and friends as possible.
Jackie is survived by her son, Nick Kavadas and his wife Katie of Cheshire, her grandsons, Nick Kavadas Jr. and his wife Ali and Alex Kavadas and his wife Lindsay all of Southington as well as many cousins and friends. In addition to George, her husband of 43, who just passed in December 2024, Jackie was also predeceased by her brother and best friend, John Briotti and her sister Diana Briotti.
Jackie and her family offer a big thank you to her doctors and nurses at Midstate Hospital and her other angels who helped her get through the most difficult time in her life.
Her funeral will be held on Monday, July 21, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. from Maiorano Funeral Home, 95 Willow St., Waterbury to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church for a Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends may visit her family on Monday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Jackie's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memorials Processing, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959. George and Jackie were more than friends. They were part of our family and the many memories we shared. May her memory be eternal and may God embrace her blessed soul.
