Obituary
Mr. Rico Elroy McDaniel 69, of Graham, NC transitioned on September 19, 2023, at Cone Health Alamance Regional Medical Center. Rico was born to Otis Leroy McDaniel Sr. and Elizabeth L. Moore McDaniel on March 29, 1954, in Guilford County.
He met and married the love of his life Gladys Moore McDaniel and from this union two children were born. Rico was a member of the 1972 graduating class of Dudley High School in Greensboro, NC. He was a faithful member of the Clover Garden AME Church in Burlington, NC. He enjoyed spending time watching Western movies and TV Shows on television and enjoyed the quiet and peacefulness of going fishing with his family and friends.
Rico is survived by his wife Gladys Moore McDaniel; son, Scottie Lee McDaniel Sr. (Latasha); daughter, Tameka Keyna McDaniel; sister, Renae McDaniel; five grandchildren, Jaquey McDaniel, Taylor Aultman, Christopher McDaniel, Scottie Lee McDaniel Jr. and Madison McDaniel, his special aunt, Alice McDaniel, brothers-in-law: Eddie Moore (Shirley), Clifford Moore (Helen), Steve Moore, Ronnie Moore and Lester Dixon, Jr. (Doreen); sister in law, Minister Cathy Dixon along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Rico was preceded in death by his parents Otis and Elizabeth McDaniel; brother, Otis Leroy McDaniel Jr.; sisters, Patricia M. Jones, Beverly McLamb and Emma Jean Edwards.
