RICHMOND, IN– Riley Rose, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at the age of 96.

Riley was born in Jackson County, Kentucky on May 12,1929 to Robert (Rob) and Lillie Callahan Rose. He moved to Richmond Indiana in 1947 and started working at Johns Manville, retiring 43 years later. Riley made his home in Centerville for over 50 years. He was a talented, self-taught woodworker and beekeeper. Riley loved cruising in his red Firebird sports car and attending various Holiness churches multiple times a week. Every year he planted a large garden filled with vegetables, which he was always very proud of.

Riley is survived by his son, Robert Earl Rose of Dayton, Ohio and daughter, Melissa Rose (Nora Martinez) of San Diego, California; grandchildren, Robert Travis (Susan) Rose and their son, Robert Calloway of Lexington, Kentucky, Tyler (Arina) Rose and their son, Tyler Jr. and daughter, Sophia Jill of Chicago, Illinois, Brock (Keri) Warner of Boise, Idaho and Bryce Warner of Los Angeles, California; as well as a special nephew who he treated as his own son, Vollie (Amy) Rose Jr., their son Payton (Cortney) Rose, and their granddaughter Scarlett of Centerville, Indiana. In addition, Riley was blessed and appreciative to have the support and care of his sister-in-law Carol (Richard) Patmore of Centerville, Indiana. He is also survived by his brother, Mack Rose and sister, Mae Witt, both of McKee, Kentucky; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Riley was proceeded in death by his siblings, Johnny Gilbert Rose, Merrill Rose, Charlie Rose, Willie Rose, Vollie Rose, Ida Kathmann, Ruth Baker, and Linda Hyatt.

Visitation for Riley Rose will be from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m Monday, March 16, 2026, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2026, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Devon Cain of Richmond, Kentucky and Lee Mays of Hagerstown, Indiana officiating. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
