Riley Steep Obituary

Riley was diagnosed with stage four adrenal cortical carcinoma at the age of four. Despite her own illness and young age, she had a heart for helping other children who were going through the same trials. With her family's help, she started "Riley's Cozy Comfy Mission" collecting donations of sheets, stuffed animals, and coloring books for other children at Prisma Health Children's Hospital to help them feel more at home when they had to be in the hospital.
As a type of therapy, Riley began painting and developed a deep love for it. In 2022, Renovation Church held a fundraiser to showcase her artwork. People came from far and wide including one woman who drove from Pennsylvania just to meet Riley and purchase one of her pieces. All of the artwork sold out in 15 minutes and the event was a rousing success.
Left to cherish Riley's memory are her parents, Matthew Steep and Rachael Davie; big sister, Olivia Steep, little sister, Liliana Steep, and baby sister, Adalynn Steep; maternal grandmother and husband, Tiffany and Roger Page; paternal grandparents, Gene and Carole Jacuk; great-grandmother, Linda Bambraugh; uncle, Ben Davie "uncle Benny"; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends.
Riley is being shown around heaven by her maternal grandfather, Stephen W. Davie.
There will be two times of visitation on Friday, July 28, 2023 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Southeast. The first visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and the second will be from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. The Funeral Service will be Saturday, July 29th at 1:00 p.m. at Brookwood Church followed by burial in Graceland East Memorial Park. To honor Riley's deep love for animals, all who attend services are encouraged to bring pet supplies which will be donated to the local humane society.
Family and friends who are unable to attend the service can view the Livestream by clicking on the "WATCH LIVESTREAM" button located on the main obituary page.
Riley's family wants to continue her legacy in helping other children with cancer. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Riley Faith Foundation, PO Box 121, Reidville, SC 29375.
Riley Faith's unbreakable spirit and the legacy she leaves behind will continue to affect and inspire those who know her. Though she is no longer physically with us, her memory will certainly inspire acts of kindness and compassion for generations to come.

I will never forget that sweet little girl who brought love and beauty to all of us who knew her through her cancer journey! She was truly a light that shone for the Jesus she loved. She had so many of the attributes of a true Christian even at her tender age. She exhibited joy, love, happiness, beauty and the love of God's animal creation. I look forward to the day I will see her in her new heavenly home! In the meantime I will remember her sweet sister, Olivia and the rest of the family in prayer!.

Hi baby girl! I cried Sunday when your passing was announced, as did so many of us who loved you. Wow you really left your mark on this world! Our little artist/sloth girl/philanthropist. I have a granddaughter with big brown sparkly eyes. Your eyes said so much, so expressive. Heaven is your home now but you will never be forgotten here on earth. I signed up to have a Memorial Tree planted in honor of your Life celebration. I also applied to adopt a dog. I didn't have the opportunity to meet Riley Faith and I don't personally know the family but I have followed this precious little girl's journey. She has touched so many in her few years here on earth. I know she is sitting in the arms of her Jesus tonight. I just wanted to express my sympathy to her family who are left behind. Riley Faith has given all of us more faith than imaginable. The legacy that this beautiful 7 year old child left behind is incredible beyond words. Although we have been left with broken hearts and tears Riley is in the loving arms of Jesus and is now pain and cancer free. I am amazed by the number of prayer warriors that came together, and I truly believe that the Lord put Riley in all of our lives to make us more prayerful, caring and supportive of those we love, each other and yes maybe those who need prayer the most for whatever reason. I never met Riley, but her smile and beauty made so many people love her. You my precious little one was a world changer for God, you lived out the life of a true Super Hero that God created you to be!! I have loved you deeply for just who you are!! My memories of Riley Faith are just like the one in the picture. She lived her life to the fullest, caring for other children with cancer and she had a big love for animals. She loved her dog Buttons very much. I prayed for Riley Faith everyday that I first saw her story through Godwinkers on FB. She stole my heart. She has been healed of the pain she endured for a lot of her cancer journey and can now run free. She is a beautiful sweet Angel.
