A memorial service for Rita Carol Adams, 79, of Lubbock, Texas will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 20, 2024, at the Combest Family Funeral Home located at 2210 Broadway in Lubbock, Texas.
Carol went to be with the Lord on December 22, 2023, at her home in Lubbock after a lengthy battle against cancer. She was being cared for at home by the people she loved. Carol Adams (Rushing) was born in Bonham, Texas on November 15, 1944, to AC and Mary Jane Rushing. She moved to Levelland in 1948 and attended Levelland Schools, where she was in the graduating class of 1963. She married Larry Adams on November 1, 1963, in Levelland, Texas. Carol had a thirty-year career in the home health care industry where she functioned as the office manager. Carol was preceded in death by her only sibling, a brother Lynn Rushing, her mother Mary Jane Rushing, and her father AC Rushing.
Carol is survived by her husband of 60 years, Larry Adams, two sons, her first born who is Mark Adams (wife is Jill) of Austin, Texas, and her second born who is Matthew Adams (wife is Gwen) of Lubbock, Texas, and one daughter Shanna Adams who is the third born. Shanna presently resides in Whitefish, Montana; but will soon be moving back to Lubbock.
Carol was blessed with Ten grandchildren. Mark’s family consists of the first born a daughter Mary Claire, a daughter Madeline, a son William, and the youngest is a daughter Maisie. Matt’s family consists of the first-born son Drew, a daughter Aubrey, a son Luke, and the youngest a son Seth. Shanna’s family consists of the first-born son Everett, and a second son Gordan. Carol had two great grandchildren and a third soon to be born.
Carol’s passion revolved around her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She was deeply loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
