Rita Audet Obituary
Rita M. (Allard) Audet, 97, of Greenville, and formerly of Woonsocket, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on October 23, 2025. She was the loving wife of the late Donat Audet, whom she shared over 53 years together until he passed away in 2010. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Eliza (Piche) Allard.
Rita was employed for over 40 years at the State of RI Division of Motor Vehicles, starting in 1946, retiring as supervisor in the Woonsocket Office in 1983. Her love and devotion to her Catholic faith carried her through life. She will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family and selfless nature in caring for others, a hallmark of the journey of her life.
She is survived by her children, Theodore Audet and his wife Linda, of Jamestown, Lisa Audet and her husband Jeff Marsh, of Streetsboro, OH, and Donna Foresti and her husband Mitchell, of Greenville; six grandchildren, Andrea Audet, Nicole Schatz and her husband Christian, Nicholas Foresti, Eliza Paradis and her husband Joseph, Sarah Beth Audet and her wife Michelle Domencic, and Rachel Audet; and seven great-grandchildren, Lillian, Rosalie, Violette, Harrison, Josephine, Leon and Cameron. She was predeceased by her brother Edward Allard.
Her funeral will be held Monday, November 3, 2025 at 9AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main Street, Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in Holy Trinity Church, 1409 Park Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Precious Blood Cemetery, Woonsocket, Rhode Island. Calling hours are Sunday from 4-7PM in the Holt Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The National Shrine of Our Lady of La Salette, Attn. Fr. Flavio, 947 Park Ave, Attleboro, MA 02703, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Harmony Hospice, 931 Jefferson Blvd, Suite 3004, Warwick, RI 02886.
