Rita Marie Davids

Rita M. Davids, 82, of Edison, passed peacefully, with her family at her side on Friday December 5, 2025, at the JFK / Hackensack Meridian Medical Center in Edison.

Born in Bayonne, NJ, she had resided in Edison for the last 75 years in the house her father built.

She retired 25 years ago after many years as a nurse for an oral surgeon in Plainfield. She was also a volunteer with the Clara Barton First Aid Squad, many years ago.

She was an avid horse lover and spent many hours at Somerset Stables caring for and riding her horse Chicka Top "Smiley".

She was a long time communicant of Guardian Angels Church, of the Transfiguration of the Lord Parish, in Edison, where she was also a member of the Altar Rosary Society and a volunteer at the Food Pantry.

Rita was predeceased by her parents, John and Harriet Rogers.

She leaves behind, her beloved husband of 57 years, Jerry Davids, her beloved son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Suzanne Davids of Edison, and her dear sister, Lorraine Zelesnick and her husband Thomas of Edison.

A memorial Mass will be held at Guardian Angels Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord Parish in Edison on Friday, December 12, 2025 at 10 a.m.
