James D. "Jim" Davids

James Dwaine "Jim" Davids, Sr., 81, of Oblong, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at 5:27 a.m. at Haven of Ridgeview in Oblong, Illinois.
Jim was born on February 13, 1944, in Elmhurst, Illinois, the son of Wayne Davids and Alma Lois (Turner) Davids.
He is survived by his son, James Dwaine Davids, Jr., of Robinson, Illinois; two daughters, Julie Denise (Rodney) Carter of Oblong and Jill Diane (David) York of Oblong; seven grandchildren, Cory Wayne Davids, Richard Michael (Amy) Shelton, Matthew John Hetzler, Lucas Wayne Davids-Badger, Tracy Marie (Jared) Pepmeier, Tiffany Elaine (Chris) Jones, and Kyle David York; sixteen great-grandchildren; and one brother, Stanley Ray Davids of West Union, Illinois.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Lisa Rose Davids; his infant sister, Barbara Ann Davids; and his brother, Dennis Lane Davids.
He graduated from Hutsonville High School in 1962 and later in life earned his master's degree from Ivy Tech.
Jim dedicated his life to the care and preservation of nature. As a Forest Preservationist, he helped replant trees through his work with the Forest Service. He loved building and flying model airplanes and was also a private pilot. He enjoyed gardening and caring for the outdoors. He was a member of the Casey United Methodist Church in Casey, Illinois.
Private inurnment will take place at a later date in Hutsonville Cemetery, Hutsonville, Illinois.
