Barbara Davids Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Oakcrest Funeral Services Buffalo Center on Feb. 7, 2026.
A funeral service for Barb will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 13, 2026, at the First Congregational Church in Buffalo Center. Burial will be held in Olena Mound Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. continue until the time of the service at the church on Friday, February 13, 2026.

Barbara Jean Davids, 87, of Buffalo Center, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at Timely Mission Nursing Home in Buffalo Center.

Barbara was born on July 11, 1938, in Buffalo Center, the daughter of Oris and LeAnne (Risius) Graue. She was raised on the family farm, where she spent nearly her entire life. Barbara attended country school through the eighth grade, then high school in Buffalo Center, graduating from Rake during her senior year. After graduation, she attended business and clerical school in Mankato and was later employed at the Bricelyn Bank.

Barbara was a devoted member of the First Congregational Church. She began playing the organ at just 16 years old and continued sharing her musical gifts for Sunday services, weddings, and funerals for many years.

On June 16, 1957, she was united in marriage to Dallas Davids. Two daughters were born to this union, and together they farmed north of Buffalo Center on the family farm. Barbara took great pride in her flowers and was meticulous in caring for the lawn and yard.

She worked at Mr. K's Café for 12 years, where she also helped with catering and enjoyed spending time with the "gals." Barbara loved traveling and went on several bus trips, visiting places such as New York, California, Florida, and Branson.

In November of 2024, Barbara moved into town, though the farm always remained her true home. She especially enjoyed gathering for coffee with the "ladies" at the deli.

Barbara is survived by her children, Sheila Davids of Frost, MN, Kristi (Mark) Freeman) of Richfield, MN; grandchildren, Danielle, Rachael, Cody Sabin and Cole Freeman; great-grandchildren, Jamal Jilacow, Jayla and Jazmyn Ahmed.

Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Dallas; son-in-law, Randy Sabin; and grandson, Casey Sabin.

Barb will always be remembered for her love, generosity, and hard work.
