Rita A. Egge

Rita A. (Whitenight) Egge, 95, of Bethlehem, formerly of Northampton, passed away Sunday August 3, 2025 at the Birches of the Lehigh Valley. She was the wife of the late William E. Egge, who passed in 1997. Rita was the daughter of the late Raymond N. and Ruth M. (Walter) Whitenight. Rita worked for Henry S. Lehr Insurance Company, but her greatest joy was being a homemaker. She loved her home and always looked forward to family dinners and special events. Rita was a volunteer for many years at Lehigh Valley Hospital- Muhlenberg. She also enjoyed sewing, crafting and dancing. Rita was a member of Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church. Survivors: daughters Lauren Gabrielli of Bethlehem and Susan Haftel of Gainesville, VA; grandchildren Anna, Austin, and Joshua. She will also be missed by 2 great grandchildren, Malcolm and Oscar, and nieces Wendy and Linda. Rita was preceded in death by her sister Ruth Whitenight. Services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
