Rita "Rosie" Faye Hollifield Moss

Rita "Rosie" Faye Hollifield Moss, age 63, of the Burnsville Community, went Home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 13, 2025. Rosie was a daughter of the late Ernest and Alma Banks Hollifield. She was also reunited with her loving husband, Jay Moss, and her sister, Darkes Henson.
Rosie had a heart of gold who loved helping others and simply loved everyone. She was the best sister a brother could ask for and the worlds most wonderful, loving and caring mother. Rosie was known for giving the very best hugs, the kind that made you feel safe, loved, and truly seen, and her greatest joy was the time she spent with her family, whom she cherished with all her heart.
Left to cherish her memory are her two sons: Dalton Hollifield (Sara) and Juwan Moss; brothers: Danny (Judy), Sonny (Vivian) and Ray Hollifield (Rebecca); nieces and nephews: Rocky Hollifield (Ashley), Seth Hollifield (Samantha), Josh Hollifield, Lashasta Johnson (Adam), William and Chris Davis (Sherry). Also, her great-nieces and nephews, "her babies" held a very special place in her heart.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 19th in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Service. Officiating will be Rev. Skip Weiford. Burial will follow in the Jay Moss Cemetery on Simms Fork. Pallbearers will be: Adam, Rocky, Dalton, Ray, Chris, Buster, Andrew and Adam. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
