Rita Ledoux Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cote Funeral Home on Jan. 19, 2023.
Rita Ledoux
Old Orchard Beach
Rita Ledoux, 85, of Old Orchard Beach, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023, at home, with her family by her side.
She was born in Karlshue, Germany on April 15, 1937.
Rita met her husband Victor while he was stationed in Germany during World War II. The young couple got married and once his tour was over, they returned to Maine with a six month old little baby. Rita met a new family, learned to speak a new language and a new chapter began. She loved being a homemaker and the couple raised four children together.
In 1980, Rita owned and operated Saco Variety in Old Orchard Beach. For 20 years, the local community depended on her for home cooked meals as their daily routine. Rita made a new family, her customers, who were her friends. She retired in 2000.
When time permitted, you could find her working on her flower garden, something she enjoyed and took great pride in.
Most of all, family meant everything to her. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy hold a special place in her heart. She will be sadly missed.
She was predeceased by 16 brothers and sisters and by her son in law Paul J. Cote.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Victor E. Ledoux and four children, Michael Ledoux and wife Jan, Christa Cote, Dawn Angus and partner Pete Peladeau and Victor Ledoux. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Stephanie, Valerie, Christopher, Nicole, Valentina, Matthew and Joseph and by two great grandchildren, Lincoln and Elouise and many nieces and nephews.
A private service will be held at a later date. To view Rita's memorial page or leave an online condolence, please visit www.cotefuneralhome.com
