Rita D. Lonchay

1933 - 2022

WOONSOCKET - Rita D. (Belliveau) Lonchay 88, of Lydia Ave., passed away on January 6, 2022, at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Roger J. Lonchay. Rita was born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late Alma (L'Heureux) Belliveau and Pierre Drainville. Rita worked for AT Cross for several years before retiring in 1993. She had previously worked for Miller Electric and then part-time for CVS. Rita loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She especially enjoyed cooking for them. Rita was known for the big open house that she hosted every New Year's Day for family and friends. Rita was an avid card player and enjoyed playing poker with her family and friends.

She is survived by two sons, Marc Lonchay and his wife Jacqueline of Dayville, CT, Jacques A. Lonchay and his wife Annette of Woonsocket, a daughter Michelle M. Bastien and her husband Gerry of Woonsocket, fifteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-greatgrandchild. She was predeceased by her daughter Micheline H. Cousineau, and siblings Leo and Paul Belliveau, and Bernadette Ledoux.
