LIMA -- Rita Nees, 75, of Lima, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Lima Memorial Health System. She was born on March 2, 1950, in Lima to the late John and Ruth {Coon} Fay.
On November 13, 1971, she married Robert Nees, who preceded her in death. Rita was a graduate of Elida High School in 1968 and a 1980 graduate of Lima Technical College. She was a member of St. Gerard's Catholic Church.
She is survived by her children, Kelly (Thomas) Stevenson and John M. Nees; grandchildren, Bailey Stevenson and Brock Stevenson; sister, Jean (Danny) Bradford; and sisters-in-law, Linda Fay and Dorothy Fay.
In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, John Fay and Michael Fay.
Her family will receive friends on Monday, February 23, 2026, from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima. A funeral service will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Shawnee Cemetery.
