The family of Rita Marie Oliphint will host a gathering of family and friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. A service to celebrate her life of 73 years is scheduled at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery. Ada Marie aka Rita Marie was born on November 5, 1949, in Olinger, VA, to the late William Edgar and Mary Elizabeth (Gibson) Coomer. She married Bobby Oliphint on September 9, 1977, in Lubbock, TX. Rita, known for her warm heart and nurturing spirit, dedicated her life to creating a loving and supportive home for her family. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, always putting the needs of her loved ones first.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Brandee (Travis) Green; her cherished grandchildren, Samantha and Micah Green; and siblings, Ted Coomer, Martin Coomer, Betty Ann Hamm, Lulu Belle Ballard, Gerald Coomer (Jackie), and Paul Coomer. She will also be fondly remembered by her numerous nieces and nephews.
Those that precede her in death are her parents, and her husband Bobby, and siblings; Nell Green, Helen Hamm, Vera Joe Coomer, Cecil Coomer, and Linda Beard.
