Rita Lynn (McCraw) Ortez, 63, passed away on February 3, 2025, in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. She was born on March 10, 1961, in Roswell, New Mexico, to Kenneth and Mildred McCraw.
Rita dedicated many years of her life to the Family Health Center in Tishomingo, where she found great joy in her work and cherished the people she worked alongside. Her compassionate nature and dedication made a lasting impact on those she served.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Rita found her greatest happiness in the time spent with her family. She adored her children and grandchildren and treasured every moment with them. She also had a passion for growing flowers, finding peace and beauty in nurturing them.
Rita was a woman of faith who attended Rock Harbor Church in Ravia and lived by Christian values. She moved to Tishomingo 26 years ago from Moriarty, New Mexico, making it her home alongside her beloved husband, Phillip A. Ortez.
She is survived by her husband Phillip; son Robert Ortez, brothers Dennis McCraw, Jack Phillips, and Steven Phillips; sisters Denise Martin, Stacey Howell, Debra McCraw, LaJuana Riley, and Kristy Mick; granddaughters Ariel, Angel, Alexus, and Alivia; and great-grandsons Sire and Maverick. She was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Mildred McCraw; brother Terry McCraw; and sister Nita Cole.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Family Health Center of Southern Oklahoma for their kindness and support.
Rita's memory will live on through the love she shared with those around her.
