Rita G Phelps died August 21, 2022 at age 97. She was the daughter of Leo P Manion and
Margaret Elizabeth Kavanagh. She was born on November 2, 1924. She married George E Phelps,
Jr. on June 15, 1943. They lived in Grand Forks ND until they moved to Naples FL in 1982.
She is survived by her children Juliana (Paul) Kierstein, Kevin (Allan Angerio), Mary (JC)
Walford, Patrick (Kathy), Francis (Janeece) and Anthony (Joann Prach), 13 grandchildren, 19
great grandchildren, sisters and brothers in law, nieces and nephews, other relatives as well as
many friends.
She was predeceased by her husband George and four children Daniel, Kathryn, Timothy and
Brian.
She was a devoted wife and mother and a very generous woman who was kind to everyone
- family, friends and, strangers.
She was an active member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church serving as a lector, Eucharistic
minister and a member of the Council of Catholic Women. She and her husband were supporters
of their youth ministry. She was also a lifetime member of the Catholic Daughters of America as
well as the American Legion Auxiliary.
Her funeral will be celebrated at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 5130 Rattlesnake
Hammock, Naples, FL 34113 at 10:00 am on Friday September 9, 2022.
There will be a luncheon following at the community hall of Blue Sky s Mobile Home Park
located at 6405 Radio Road, Naples, FL
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to St. Peter s the Apostle Catholic Church Youth
Ministry or Avow Hospice 1095 Whippoorwill Lane, Naples, FL 34105

Well Aunt Rita, you´re with the angels now and I´m sure gonna miss the sound of your smile on our phone calls. Since my parents passing we´ve really become close friends and I´ll surely miss speaking with you. The memory of our last visit will be with me forever! My the light of our Lord shine upon you and those who preceded your arrival!
