Rita J. Pieper

Rita J. (Winterman) Pieper, 94, of Evansville, passed away on Friday, April 7, 2023, at Woodlands Nursing Home. She was born April 16, 1928 in Evansville, IN to the late Louis and Margaret (Highholder) Winterman.
Rita was a sales clerk at F.W. Woolworth and Baums. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. Rita enjoyed reading and always had a book in her hand.
Rita is survived by her daughters, Judith Pieper Young and Theresa Swinford; grandchildren, Krystal Brickey (Bryan), Jack Vincent, Fred Ruttinger, Jason Nunn, and Guy Vincent, II (Kimberly); great-grandchildren; Olivia Brown, Eli Brown, Tallulah Brickey, Quillyan Ruttinger, Hannah Vincent, Lexie Vincent, and Gracie Vincent; 2 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Mark R. Pieper; son, Mark R. Pieper, Jr.; son-in-law, John Young; and her brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel, 626 North First Avenue, Evansville, IN 47710. A funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Father Steve Lintzenich officiating.
Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum.
