Rita D. Rizio, age 92, peacefully passed away at home on December 30, 2024. Rita was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who was admired and loved by many, always ready to provide care, advice, and direction.
Beloved wife of the late Eugene P. Rizio; devoted mother of Gene F. Rizio (Kathy) and Diane Westman (Len); dear sister of Ann Carcione and the late Jenny Howlett, Marion Neri Jones, Mary Angelastro, Rose Marconi, Josephine Persechino, Betty Pizzutto, Fred Persechino, and Jean Bailey; loving grandmother of Jamie Westman, Christopher Rizio (Juliana), Lauren Mezzy (Caleb), and David Westman (Morgan); great-grandmother of Cameron Mezzy, Tobie Mezzy, Nico Rizio, and Sarah Westman.
Predeceased by her parents, Angelo and Nataline Persechino as well as her grandson, Eric Rizio.
Rita had a 30-year career with the Gloucester Township school system as a Librarian Assistant at Glen Landing Middle School. An avid chef and baker, Rita's biscotti in particular, became a family favorite and a treasured tradition during holidays. The best memories shared with her occurred on the annual Feast of the Seven Fishes each Christmas Eve.
Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Monday, January 6th from 10:00AM to 11:00AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish- St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, 135 N White Horse Pike, Lindenwold, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00AM. Entombment following in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. Arrangements under the direction of the DANKS-HINSKI FUNERAL HOME, LINDENWOLD NJ.
