Rita B. Schubert

Rita Elaine Bowman Schubert went to be with the Lord on Saturday January 18, 2025, at the Methodist Medical Center. Her heart gave out, but her love of God, family and friends continues on. Rita was born in Hickory, NC to Pleaz and Agnes Bowman. They moved to Palm Beach Gardens, FL in the late fifties. She graduated from Riveria Beach High School in
1969. While working at the Publix Danish Bakery she met her future husband, Jim Schubert. They dated for 4 years and were married in 1973. She worked and lived in Charlotte, NC., Clemson, SC. and Palm Beach
Gardens, FL., before permanently moving to Oak Ridge in 1981. She worked in Bakery sales and word processing; a secretary at ORNL, type setter for small print shops, librarian, and sold Tupperware for more than 10
years. She was most happy being a full time Mom and wife. She loved to do crafts, going to church, keeping up with the boys' activities, reading, collecting, and enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren.
She was preceded by her dad, Pleaz L. Bowman and her Mom, Agnes M. Bowman.
Rita is survived by her husband of over 51 years, Jim Schubert, her two sons Phillip Schubert, Oak Ridge, Jason Schubert and wife Vicky, Knoxville. Grandchildren Emily, Joshua, Jayden, and Katie. Sister Janice
Verity, Palm Beach Gardens, FL., and two brothers Micheal and Richard Bowman, Jupiter FL.

The family will receive family and friends on Friday January 24, 2025 from 7:00 PM
to 8:00 PM at the Weatherford Mortuary Chapel.
