Rita A. Senerchia, fondly known as Grandma, 89, died on March 12, 2025 at the Hudson Valley Hospice House. A resident of New Rochelle for 30 years, she previously lived in Tuckahoe. She then moved to Dutchess County where she spent the next 30 years with her children and grandchildren.
Born on September 27,1935 in Tuckahoe, Rita was the daughter of the late Emilio and Louise Salerno. She was employed by New York Telephone for over 20 years until her retirement. Rita dedicated her life to her children and her grandchildren. They were her greatest joy. She was a true Italian mother, who loved to cook and take care of her family, and anyone else who happened to be in her home, therefore she was loved by all who knew her.
Rita is survived by her children and their spouses, Louis and Lori Senerchia of Wappingers Falls, Anthony and Lisa Senerchia of Hudson, Donna and Michael Bellizzi of Hopewell Junction, and Patty and Frank Nardone of Saratoga Springs; her grandchildren, Dina, Richard, Steven, Michael, Frankie and Taylor, and Nicole; her great-granddaughter, Daisy; her siblings, Barbara Tucker and her husband Donald and Marylou Salerno; her cousin, Francesca Camperlango; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Rita was predeceased by her husband Anthony Senerchia in 1981; and her brother, Anthony Salerno.
Calling hours will be held at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc. 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction on Sunday, March 23rd from 12 - 4 pm with a service at 3:30 pm.
