Cowlesville - Rita M. Smith, 93 of Cowlesville passed away on Thursday (March 5, 2026) at East Side Nursing Home in Warsaw.
Mrs. Smith was born November 13, 1932 in Bennington, a daughter of the late Stanley and Marie (Fridman) Zielonka.
She was a parishioner of the former Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bennington and was a member of the Senior Club at Pine Lounge in Cowlesville. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
Rita is survived by her daughters, Cynthia (Gregory) Williams of Attica and Nancy (Michael) Caborn of Warsaw. Three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive.
In death, Rita is reunited with her parents; husband, Elmo Smith; and sister, Marie Teresa (late Stanley) Slubecky.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Rita will be laid to rest beside her husband in Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery in Bennington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cowlesville Fire Department.
