Rita Sparhawk

Rita Sparhawk (nee Korn), of Virginia Beach, VA, formerly of Laurel Springs, NJ, passed away on June 23, 2025 at the age of 61.

Rita was born on August 25, 1963 to Jon and Veronica Korn in Colorado Springs, CO, but moved to Laurel Springs at an early age. After graduating high school in New Jersey, she met her soul mate and future husband of 41 years, John Sparhawk. Rita and John went on to have 2 children, Zachary and Michael. As a devoted Navy wife, she took the helm at home and ran the ship with grace and a can-do attitude. When the boys got older, she worked in a variety of industries, most recently working in insurance.

Rita was a talented artist who loved painting and enjoyed crocheting blankets for loved ones after she retired. She enjoyed gardening and was known for baking some of the best treats that had family and friends requesting more. She was a proud mother and grandmother and was happiest spending time with her family.

Rita was predeceased by her parents, Jon and Veronica Korn and sister Veronica. She is survived by her loving husband, John Sparhawk, sons Zachary Sparhawk (Larissa) and Michael Sparhawk (Angela), grandchildren Jackson, Adilea, and Alana, and brothers Jon and Joseph Korn.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Lung Cancer Research Foundation at PO Box 780990, Philadelphia PA 19178 could be made.

Services for Rita will take place privately. Arrangements under the direction of the DANKS-HINSKI FUNERAL HOME, LINDENWOLD NJ.
