Rob Bowlby

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Robin Francis Bowlby, who died peacefully on August 29th, 2025, in Detroit, MI. He was 66 years old.

Born on August 2nd, 1959, in Ferndale, MI, Rob was the beloved son of Ronald and Marie Bowlby. He was a trusted mechanic for most of his life, where he was known for his handiwork, no nonsense attitude, and dedication to his job. Rob was a graduate of Troy Athens High School and spent several years as volunteer firefighter.

Rob was a family man, supportive and loving husband, proud father, and fun-loving grandpa. He was most passionate about fishing, golfing, keno, music, and could often be found on his zero-turn mower perfecting his lawn.

He taught us the importance of hard work and taking care of loved ones. His words of wisdom, sense of humor, and "won't sugar coat it" attitude will be deeply missed. To all who knew him, he was the smartest man in the room, and his memory will live on forever in our hearts.

Rob is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Sharon; his children, Jeff (Emma) and Jamie; and his grandchildren, Oliver, Wesley, and Conrad. He also leaves behind his siblings, Ron and Randy (Lynne), and many cherished family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Marie Bowlby and brother, Russ Bowlby.

Family will receive friends, Saturday, September 20, 2025, 1-7pm at A.J. Desmond & Sons (Price Chapel), 3725 Rochester Road, (btwn Big Beaver & Wattles), Troy, 248-689-0700., until Memorial Service at 7pm.
