Robert Paul Canning of St. Charles, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at the age of 49. He leaves behind a wife, Kara Canning (Nee Adams), and two daughters, Gabby and Lydia Canning.

Rob was born on February 6, 1974, in Sutton Coldfield, England. He is survived by his parents, Robert and Valerie Canning (Nee Bolton). Rob was their youngest child and is survived by his three loving sisters, Maria (Micky) Blackwell, Linda (Martin) Lahiffe, and Sarah (Danny) Lahiffe. He also has numerous nieces and nephews in England as well as in the United States.

A graduate of Birmingham City University, he spent his career working in the software field. He immigrated to the United States in 1999 to marry his wife, Kara. They were wed in her hometown of Hannibal, Missouri. Their wedding was a joyous occasion that was celebrated by families and friends from both the United States and the United Kingdom.

Rob and Kara moved to St. Charles, Missouri shortly after their wedding. During that time, Rob was a respected and valued employee of Quilogy Inc. as well as Aspect Software. He began as a software consultant who moved into the role of software architect. Until his untimely death, he was a Technical Director at Momentus Technologies (formerly known as Ungerboeck). Rob was always interested in learning and utilizing the latest technologies at high industry standards. A proud moment for Rob was when he became a United States citizen. He was a man of few words but was quick witted with a great sense of humor.

The highlight of their nearly 25-year marriage was raising their two daughters. Gabby is currently in her sophomore year in college, while Lydia is a freshman in high school. Both girls are talented, creative and conscientious students. They are compassionate, friendly young ladies who are loved by many on both sides of the pond.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a Scholarship Fund, set up for his daughters’ future educational needs.

Rob was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Private services will be held at a later date in both St. Charles as well as in England.
