Leonard Robert "Robbie" Mader, 61, of Holcomb, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at his home. He was born on February 14, 1964, in Garden City, Kansas, the son of Leonard Joseph and Donna Jean (Clark) Mader.

Robbie grew up in Holcomb alongside his five brothers and sisters. He graduated from Holcomb High School in 1982 and spent much of his life on the family farm. As a boy, he loved riding horses and especially enjoyed time with his Shetland pony, Sugar.

A lifelong farmer at heart, Robbie loved working with horses and cattle. He spent many years with Helena Chemical Company spraying fields, and he also enjoyed restoring and working on classic cars. Some of his fondest memories were made running cattle with his dad and brothers near Sunflower Electric, and farming alongside his family. Summers often took him to Westcliffe, Colorado, where he enjoyed vacations at the cabin-fishing, playing cards like 99 and 31, and spending time surrounded by loved ones.

Robbie was a devoted son, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. Family was the center of his world, and he never hesitated to lend a hand to anyone in need. Becoming a grandfather was one of the greatest joys of his life-his grandson Blake was truly his pride and joy.

He is survived by his daughters, Lacey Mader of Cresco, Iowa, and Katelyn Mader of Colorado Springs, Colorado; grandson, Blake Burnikel; sisters, Susan (Bill) Weiland of Ulysses, Kansas, Shelly (Jim) Hanson of Omaha, Nebraska, and Jackie (Wade) Barlow of Holcomb, Kansas; stepchildren, Kristina Long, Brian Rodriquez, Matt Flores, and Mekayla Sonnenberg; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Robbie was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Donna Mader, and his brothers, Wes Mader and Bryan Mader.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Robbie Mader Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home.
