Robert "Bob" Henry Abbondanza, 76 years, of Waukesha, WI died on October 26, 2025 surrounded by his loving wife Kathy; daughters Erica & Stacy; grandchildren Logan and Paislee and sons-in-law Bill and Rob.
He was born in Milford, MA in 1949 to Charles and Santina Abbondanza. His grandchildren, Logan and Paislee were the lights of his life. He would move mountains for them any chance he got, attending swimming lessons, gymnastics, soccer games and esports tournaments. Robert loved hanging out and joking with his sons-in-law.
Bob proudly served as a Navy Corpsman during the Vietnam War, demonstrating courage and dedication in one of the most challenging eras of American military history. He was a lifelong learner, earning a bachelor's degree in Public Health from UMASS along with associate degrees in Respiratory Therapy and Liberal Arts.
His professional journey took him across the country, where he made a lasting impact at several VA hospitals, including those in Milwaukee, Rhode Island, and Louisiana. At each facility, Bob held the esteemed position of Director of Respiratory Therapy, leading with compassion, expertise, and a deep commitment to veteran care.
Beyond his career, Bob was a passionate New England Patriots fan—loyal through every season, win or lose. His steadfast spirit and devotion, both professionally and personally, left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Santina Abbondanza and is survived by his loving wife Kathy along with their two children: Erica (William) Krauss and Stacy Abbondanza (Rob Kivioja); his grandchildren Logan Krauss & Paislee Kivioja; his brothers Charles "Butch" Abbondanza and Richard (Joann) Abbondanza and Sister AnnMarie (Rick) Coyne.
