Robert Charles Ackerman

MARGATE, NJ and BOCA RATON, FL – Robert Charles Ackerman passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at his residence in Margate, New Jersey, with his family by his side. He was 80 years old.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, to Simon and Elsie (née Klein) Ackerman, Robert spent his early years there. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1962 to 1970. During his years of service, he married the love of his life, Florence (née Moren) Ackerman, in 1966. In 1971, they moved to East Brunswick, NJ, where they raised their family and established their life together. In their later years, Robert and Florence lived in Boca Raton, FL, and spent their summers in Margate, NJ.
Robert worked from the age of eight and continued working for 72 years, right up until he passed away. He built a long and successful career which included founding Magna Legal Services in Philadelphia, PA, helping grow the company into a respected industry leader.
In his spare time, Bob loved golf, spending time with family and friends, always helping others, and creating and owning businesses. He always put others before himself.
Robert is predeceased by his sister, Anita Desnick.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Florence; his two sons, Michael and his wife, Kerry, and Jonathan and his wife, Taryn; his two daughters, Staci Ackerman Hecht and her husband, Peter, and Holli Ackerman Goldman and her husband, Steven; two sisters, Sally Calavetta and her husband, Robert, and Rosalie Druyan and her husband, Martin; and thirteen grandchildren: Max, Ella, Brent, Shane, Alex, Ryan, Layla, Ashley, Jillian, Harper, Avery, Troy, and Henry, all of whom adored their "Grandpa Bobby."
A chapel service will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 11:45 am at Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, NJ. Interment will follow at 1:15 pm at Beth Abraham Cemetery in East Brunswick, NJ. For directions, please view our "Events" listed below.
Bob will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. The life he built, the people he helped, and the family he devoted himself to stand as the lasting legacy he leaves behind.
